I saw a recent thread about wether to get a gen 1 lse. There was a lot of mixed reviews about get a gen 1 lse, so to avoid jacking the thread I thought I would make a new one to hear you guys thoughts. Are there more maintenance upkeep on a gen 1 ls than a gen 1 mark viii?

meh.

want 2 doors? or 4 doors? and go from there.

you either deal with air ride and front end suspension rebuilds, or coils and timing chain tensioners.

they both have their special problems. and both have loyal owners. post on the LS side, it will be LS biased. Mark VIII side, just the opposite.

and btw, you should absolutely consider between a Gen 2 LS or Gen 2 mark since you are asking about maintenance. the newer generation of both is consider more reliable. updates, fewer miles, newer cars, etc.

What about a low mileage gen 1 most gen 2 in my area are ridiculously priced

The Second gen 2 in my area are going for 7 grand some between 80 and 100 k miles

Well, since your asking the LS side of the forums......

you still didn't say which. but at 7k i hope its an LS. which isn't that overpriced. 06s are going for what, like 10k?

7k will net you one hell of a Mark though. even 4k would do that.

98, 06, what do you say we just split the difference and get a 03 cobra!

I vote Gen 1 Mark only because last I remember you already have a Gen 2 Mark. If you are able to get your hands on a 93 you will not regret it. VERY FAST CAR. Take my 93 for $3,000. :D

I read that S-types are junk... every little piece brakes off. And overall quality isn't that good.

Did you own one? No, you didn't. So how you know?

I read a lot things too, doesn't mean it's true.

Quality isn't good? Jags make $45,000 LS looks like sub-standard vehicle.

edit: btw, both vehicles share the same platform.

I wonder how much platform they share, like if the Jag computer will plug into and operate the LS systems? If so, the Jag has the same engine architecture, but more cubes, and a factory supercharger to boot? Hmmm....

@05ls8 no I don't own one but I been in one and I have spoken with people who had experience with them.
