swapped my broken valve '95 motor for a '97. I think I may have misdirected two wires to the wrong cylinders although the '95 coils are labeled, I'm not sure if I ran the wires properly. I used the search and have not com across a plug/wire wiring diagram. Do the gen1 and gen2 use the same firing order? and does some one have plug wire for dummies picture or reference:p

To clarify the question is the firing order 1 3 7 2 6 5 4 8
Pass side cylinders 1 2 3 4
Driver side cylinders 5 6 7 8

What I'm unclear is the left and right coil packs, ok they are labeled. I'm just not putting it together some how, what would help is
pass side coil pack connect wires ? ? ? ?
drvr side coil pack connect wires ? ? ? ?

or a picture

thanks, Taken a second look
This is how I set up the wires to the plugs but something does not feel right

Left coil 1_2.......................right coil 3_4
7 3............................6 2
1 5............................4 8

Something tells me wires 7 and 6 are mixed up???

+ 1&6 - coil one fires
+ 3&5 - coil two fires
+ 4&7 - coil three fires
+ 2&8 - coil four fires

Is the above right for a 1995 viii with a retrofitted 97 motor using the 95 intake, valve covers and old style duel coils.

Bogs under acceleration and idle rough feels like a misfire. I do have IMRC butterfly issues from the underside three flat blade springs underside through rod carbon gunk build up, did do a good job cleaning them up just not as spotless as the rest of the IMRC.
