Well I finnally went for my last day of school last wednesday :D and wow that really has nothing todo with the story here LOL.

Anywho, I talked my mom while we were out into taking the LS into a tranny shop, ive known of this place for quite some time now, and it seems to have a good rep, along with NOT being one of those hole-in-the-wall looking places.

Its called Michigan Transmission, I explained to him what was going on, so he asked if he could take it for a spin and I went along with him. We got back after about a 10 minute drive, and he pulled the engine light code, and then told us that the problem is most likely the miss in the engine, (Dont remember exactly what he said about the miss messing with the sensors on the trans), but then (All that was for no charge) he reccomended us to "Pauls Automotive" and said to have the miss taken care of and its more than likely that it will take care of the trans issue.

So we went there, nicest guy ever, told us about the coil pack issue, and we BS'ed for about 15 minutes about it and what ive heard/read about them, and he said theres no chance of them looking at it today, they had literally about 20 cars in the lot that were going in today (Another nice place, not a hole-in-the-wall), and he said bring it in tomorrow morning as soon as possible, they open up at 6:30 and he said they'll diagnose everything that could cause the issue, and blah blah basically its free if they cant fix it, but he bets its the coilpacks.

So in other words, hopefully ill be driving a fast LS home tomorrow :D

When the trans guy was driving, he floored it a couple times, and MAN I forgot how much balls these things have! It sounded mean as hell too!

:D

I should have also threw in, im 18...lol so nothing to big for me yet, im putting away a little here and there though for something wild.

Pinto

Hey Nick---
Although I wasn't 18, I had a Pinto that was, at least, reasonable. I bought it new, but by the time I got rolling, it had a full frame fabricated, with a roll cage. The engine, a 466 SCJ based on a 429, sat under the dash and the seats were mounted in the original back seat footspace. The top was chopped 4 inches. It weighed 2260. 1140 was on the back wheels.:D

Yea just go get a jap bike and take it to the drag strip. You will never drive fast in your LS again. Nothing like going 9.30's @ 144+ mph with a few simple bolt-ons. I love the adrenaline rush I get when staging.

Well we dropped her off this morning at 6:45am, hoping for some good news soon, but it probably wont be until later, they already had about 8 cars before us.

I wonder if they'd have the coils on hand to replace if thats the problem...

My CEL is finally off also! I forgot to mention that :D

BUT, the Airbag light did flash a few times and stay on for the ride home, but then it was off.

when i was 18, i got a 94 mercury capri XR2 (not the mustang capri, the turbo'ed miata looking little fukcer) it was pretty quick, well at least up to 60 anyways then it just kinda fell on its face

When I was 18, I had a hot rodded '66 Fairlane GTA.
Low 12's, @ 114mph, or so, on street tires, and through the mufflers.

Make sure they check the trans codes, as well, because the shift solenoid packs can mimic bad coils, when driving, but yea, they seam connected in the car's little brain.

When I was 18, owned 65 Mustang with 289 Hi-pro spec engine with a 4 spd, that would turn low 14's in quarter mile. We use to go bracket racing at the Sands Raceway in South Orange County. We use to race in the factory's around So. Central LA also. This is about 30 yrs before Fast and The Furious. Just so you young guys know that they did not invent racing in the streets.

When I was 18 I had a 96 sentra that went 0-60 in 12-13 seconds lol (still got that little ride for my dd and project/fixer upper)

you want something wild, buy yourself a midget hooker....I heard they're half off.

I won $500 one night out in the county north of Bellingham, racing 3 different SB Camaro's. They would get me off the line, and then my BB would eat 'em up at the top end!!! Great sport!!!

If anyone remembers my first post, we got it back and they couldn't figure out why it's missing. He checked the codes and it had said something about coils 1 and 4 and he supposedly "checked" them and they're working properly.

I'm gonna just start with a complete tuneup and see if that doesn't help,
-Plugs & Wires
-Fuel filter
-Coils 1 & 4
then eventually the other 6 coils if no results

The LS has no wires.. Coil on plug..

When I turn 18, I will have the LS and the good ol' Danger Ranger.. :D

My bad lmao, I honestly havent even gotten out to get the plugs yet so when I would have asked, they would have probably been like wtf dumbass.

Yep.. :D

My setup is eBay coils and e3 plugs.. Runs really smooth now..

You could also use OEM coils or Aftermarket.. Pektel and SPSully have them and you can search for Pektels setup.. He posted pics.. If you do the work yourself, you'll save a crap ton IMO.. Doesn't really take that long..

Yea honestly since you have the 3.9, do the coils yourself.

If you have tools (are a man), it is not hard at all.

Do you think that the E3 plugs helped any? Or was it just time to change them anyway.

It was time to change them and they were around the same price as platinums.. I did see a 1-2 mpg increase (20.8 then up to 23.2) but idk how right that is because I bought the car misfiring. Don't get me wrong though, I do drive with the pedal to the floor sometimes too.. :D

+1 on doing yourself.. The only trouble I had was trying to take shortcuts on the drivers side. Do everything it says. Or you can't get it out. Dipstick pulls right out.
