Finally got my coils.

Yeah, that second picture is more what I had in mind. Thanks. After I scrolled down and saw the first pic I literally started laughing, you smartass. I just wanted a quick visual of what the engine compartment looked like with those big yellow plugs sticking up. Not bad.
 
You aren't concerned with water collecting in the wells and shorting out the coils?
 
No sir. I've never had water in the top of the engine bay. If there was water there, it would be a problem with one of the hood seals - either at the front of the hood, or closest to the windshield.
 
Good luck with those! I went throught two sets, horrible quality control. First coil failed within 3 days of install. Had 4 coils from two sets fail before going back to factory coils. Even when working right the car never really ran the same and was .2 slower at the strip than factory coils. Swapped them out while there one day. Cobbled together a fully working set of accell's that are now on an aquaintance's truck and they've been fine for a year and a half. Can't verify this but I think there is an impedance mismatch issue between our motor and the 4.6. To answer the second question...do not drive through a car wash that sprays the undercarriage or drive a long distance on wet roads with the coil covers off. The #8 well will fill with water and take out the coil...personal experience.
 
You obviously haven't seen the majority of my posts. I would NEVER bring my car through any type of car wash. I'm a detailer. Everything under the engine bay is done with spray bottles only. :D

Sully was running his for over a year with no issues. I think there are always going to be positive and negative reviews for any product. Maybe it's different with gen 1 LSes, since the only bad reviews I've seen from guys on here are gen 2 owners.

I will keep it in mind though, and appreciate the input.
 
Meh, it was half the price of OEM coils. I bought them so I could afford the new fuel pump too. Speaking of, I gotta get that ordered...
 
Is the water problem just a V8 thing, the V6 does not have covers over the coils.

Yesterday I drove 80 miles at freeway speeds in a downpour. Engine bay stayed bone dry. I popped the hood when I got back just to make sure.
 
Glad to see that the coils are still working good.. Well, at least I think they're still running good.. Kinda figured that you would have been b!t@chen if they failed.. :D
