I have had a trans leak for the 5 or so months I owned the car. Well finally had some free time. I replaced the old tranny fluid with Mecron V, new filter and new gasket (aftermarket rubber one was on the car and leaking). I took the pan off and ran it in the parts cleaner at work. The fluid looked ok but the bottom of the pan was black as well as the magnet. I cleaned it all looks brand new. Put it back together, started the car, ran through the gears, lifted the car back up (yes I got to use a lift at work) and drip drip drip. Was puzzled for a second. Checked all bolts all tight. Then I looked at the dipstick tube, the o ring was leaking. I ordered the o ring 5 months ago when I orderd the rest of the parts luckily. What a PITA it was to replace the o ring. I took the dipstick tube off and bam about 2 qts of Mecron V all over the floor lol. Well it is all bolted up fine and the car shifts a lot better. Well next time I will put on my 97 VB and J mod stuff, trans cooler and 1-2 accumlator (I think mine is fine but will do it for piece of mind) and 2-3 accumlator as well. Why didn't I do it the first time? I was lazy lol. I was on very limited time.

Isn't that O-Ring a nice little guy... Love to drip oil...

Hmmmm another guy who has to use the lift... get on your back and quit making us jealous. LOL

Haha....Perks of working at a dealership lol. I get use of the lifts and the techs tools and free help.

Umm Im not sure I got it 5 months ago the invoice is long gone. I just called the local Ford dealer told them the dipstick tube or ing for the tranny they had plenty he said.
