My coil misfire's have been really bad lately. I visited the dealer today and played some hard ball with the service advisor and the manager. I brought with me my stack of previous service slips showing all the coils thats have been replaced once and sometimes twice. I also brought the extended program letter regarding the coils which cover them until 100k, parts and labor. I am currently at 111k miles. I told him it was basically unacceptable to have so many coils fail in such a short amount of time, as it boils down i am supplying the parts, 8 new coils and 8 new plugs out of my own pocket and they are going to comp the labor to install them. I already had the parts on order to do the job myself but atleast i am getting it done at the dealer for free. So as of saturday i will have all new oem plugs and coils replaced. Lets see how long these new parts hold up before the next issue. My dealer has always been good to me and TeamFord.com has been great supplying me with the new parts (dccv, degas bottle, coils, plugs, fuel filter) at a good price. I think the deal breaker was that i was also spending the $$$ for new rear brakes as well. Anyway, after this weekend i will have a great running LS again. So hopefully you wont hear any crying from me about misfire's for some time.
