well it finally happened i had to get my coils on the 03 replaced under warranty. the car has 60thou miles. i went in expecting to have a couple replaced and i was looking to replace all the spark plugs at my own expense. I dropped my car off thurs morn and received a call from them not long after saying that the coils weren't covered under my extended service plan. at that point i was quick to point out the recall notice that i have in my hand at that time. all of a sudden almost instantaneously he said "oh yeah i see that recall" (he was looking at the computer screen i guess at that time) and he said he'll go ahead and do it. I got my car back today and had everything replaced, all 8 coils, 8 sparks, EVERYTHING. Total bill- $0. i guess if you know your car and your prepared ahead of time for the attempted run around they wont try to f%$k with you.

Nice, how's it running now?

drives great, its got its power back it seems, and no more hesitations. I reset my fuel mileage counter as well to see how my fuel consumption is now.

Off topic but whats ppls opinions on the new sport trac Adrenalins? there was one at the dealer and i think they did a good job making the truck look more aggressive for sure, not sure how it drives thou, i got picked up before i could get a chance to drive it

That's great to hear. What was your car doing that prompted you to have the coils replaced? I'd be curious of your fuel mileage after as well. Mine consistantly gets about 8.6L/100 on the highway and in the city that comes up to around 12. I'm happy with that!

Hmm....sounds like he was about to rip you off but then realized you knew your sh*t and changed his mind haha.

I LOVE the new Sport Trac's, I hated the old ones, I love the rims on them too

my car was doing the usual hesitation and "missing" under load like going up hills and passing/accelerating so far my fuel mileage hasn't changed much but that's because i haven't driven much and when i do, i enjoy having the power back so i give it a little more than i have too lol

It's no Raptor, that's for sure but it does look pretty cool, its probably not as fast as it looks.

a good experience at the dealer, i guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once and a while!
