Fender Rollin

EXPENSIVE and NOT needed. Especially since you will more or likely use this ONCE. Just cut it, cut it right and be done. I cut my fenders on 2001 and they look like the day I cut them.

I'd prefer to use the proper tool if it's only $50 to rent. That baseball bat idea looks like a recipe for noob disaster!

Baseball bats or any other similar solutions work perfectly but may not get you the desired results. I rolled mine first, it still rubbed, then I just clean cut it.

A buddy of mine clean cut my fenders before I got the roller for my LS and it caused them to crack, my guess is because they're aluminum. Anyways, I have one of those fender rollers, I'll lend it to you a hell of a lot cheaper than they will.

If I ever repaint mine I'd like to wire edge the fender lip...

I would use the bat method before wasting money on that tool... I'd just use a wood bat though...

I don't think i'll be cutting anything. I'll rent the tool or borrow from TDUB (thanks for the offer).
I don't have the equipment to cut, nor do I want to risk it.

The tool looks like the perfect simple solution that will provide steady consistant pressure for a nice finish.
Unless someone close wants to cut them for me. No? Then rollin's the way to go for me.

If its got to get done then it has to get done.
I'll take my time and do it right and crap my pants the whole time. It is what it is. But I do not feel comfortable cutting them off. Especially since I don't have the tools nor know which cutter and method would work best. No body shop wants to touch that around here. Thanks for the input - I am still waiting to get my car back from my mechanic.:shifty:

You tape it out then cut with a high speed whizzer wheel. No damage.

I was just in time for a paint job when I did mine so I was lucky.

I dunno it sounds simple enough to me.
I would cut before I would screw around with a bat.

Also dont cut too far their are spot welds holding the car together in that fender. You can see them in Genos pic. He is a pro and knows exactly how deep you can trim.

I'd just be afraid of introducing too much heat into the paint...

Thats EZ.
You need a buddy with a rag and a bucket of ice water.
My old man used to braze 1/4s on that way.

Keep the heat away.
I think if you went slow and used a little common sense it would come out fine.
