i have a question about my fan its cuts on alot even cold starts in the morning at 30 degrees. The car did have a headgasket problem when i got it but i installed another motor.I noticed the fan problem because my friends mark viii his fan doesnt cut on unless he has the ac on.Is it a sensor or something i should check out?I mean it cuts on like every 15 minutes like clock work no matter what the temp even at 20 degrees in the morning and the car isnt even hot yet. Also there are no other problems with the car at all

Search: VCRM and if it's only the fan, maybe an aftermarket fan controller might be a better option for you. I don't know the year you have but hopefully for you it's not a 96.

I don't have a Gen 2 but I believe the 97 and 98 will swap with each other. You might wanna wait for someone else to chime in on yours. Something is commanding the fan to come on and I would think it's the VCRM but it could be something else.

The AC compressor kicks on in ANY mode besides "vent". Just FYI incase you have the HVAC in a position besides that. Although I do believe it will not kick in below a certain temp.

floor and vent shouldn't kick it in. Not sure about PNL-FLR button. I never mess with that one. I never mess with the vent button either. Auto in the summer and floor in the Winter for me, unless I need the defroster.

unity may be right, its possible but I'm not sure (not very FoMoCo for that time frame, ive even wondered myself). but i am sure it runs it in defrost.
