So I walked into Sears the other day to see if they could match my online price I found for some tires. They had sign that says they would match any creditable companies price on tires. Well I brought in an invoice for my tires and they said that they COULDN'T match the price. WTF should I do? Just keep ordering tires from online? Thanks for your opinions.

Go with the best price.....plus I believe the "creditable companies" is what f*cked you over. If the site you go to isn't the maker's site or a site like firestone or discount tires...they won't beat their price. Plus sears is pretty homo anyways.....I'd go there just to use their restroom and hit on their cute female staff..that's pretty much it :/

Tirerack.com seems like a pretty creditable company. The same tire from sears was almost double what it was from tirerack. What's up with that then pete?
Tirerack price for 245/35 zr20- $125 shipped to my door
Sears price for the same tire was $220

they get Tirerack...hell sales tax is almost as much as shipping (Here it's 9% sales tax)

I found my tires on tirerack for $118, but ended up paying $139 through tireplus. You have to count in shipping etc. Through tirerack would have almost been $160 a tire.

I payed $139 a tire, and am getting them installed at another store for $10, mounting and balancing per tire

I would have asked for the manager and demanded an explanation. They advertise they will "beat" any "creditible companies price". Sometimes they need to be reminded of there own policies. If you make a big enough stink about to the manger, he will give in to keep the custumer happy. Just my $.02.

I did that and they even called their distributor in front of me and still said they couldnt do it. I do get my tires from tirerack but why cant sears do what they say?

You can't expect a store like Sears to meat the TireRack price, not if they want to stay in business. Their expenses are much greater and they are offering a convenience. They have to maintain the show room, order and have the tires shipped, store the tires, pay the sales people, ect. There is a price for the service and convenience they are selling.

But I've been buying from Tirerack for a while now, mounting usually only costs between $10-15, depending on where you go.
