I have the AVIC and the Ipod connector, except I keep my Ipod in the glove box out of sight/out of view. Not sure about the Kenwood, but the Avic gives full Ipod control from the headunit. I never touch the Ipod itself

Has anyone w/the stock nav tried any of the other Nav discs (Pioneer or Ford P-series w/more voice commands) in the 03-06 units?? I checked Navteq & they want $199 for the 7D map DVD. Does anyone know how much the newer DVD's have improved?
I need to update my disk too. Its an 04. I'm curious if its worth it as well and if the disks have improved
In April of this year I purchased a new disc from Navteq. Prior to that I was still running off of the original 2003 disc and there were many times in my area that the guidance was not complete and it would require me to "follow the screen".
I was having a hard time swallowing the $199 that they charge for the newest version, but after installation and numerous trips; I have yet to have a destination that wasn't complete. I figured a good test would be a friends house in a brand new sub-division that was only about a year old and it found his house no problem.
