How did you guys (that have them )paint the eyebrows and what type of paint did you use?

To tell you the truth I am very disappointed in my set. They are very wavy. Did anyone else have this problem,....can it be fixed?

I have on 04.
Mine we're very wavy black and I took them off.
I suppose they can be block sanded straight with rough 40 grit paper then made smoother with finer papers before spraying them with primer surfacer and getting them ready for color paint.
I have base coat clear coat paint for my car so may use that.
Since they're so small you could go with a single stage 2k urethane which as a bonus has elasticity and won't chip.
If you could find a spray can match that would probably be fine too.
Ultimately you could just paint the headlights with the color and forget about the angel eyes.
You could tape off the headlights with a few good layers of masking or duct tape like the angel eyes and then brush paint on that to see how much you like it.
If like go with the angel eyes done right, if not just peel off the tape.

??? Dude sorry I couldn't comprehend anything you said after the 4th sentence.

Is there anything I can use thats almost like a putty for this type of material? Like if I were to put a coat of what ever on and smooth it down then paint it.

There's a spot putty that you mix with bondo hardener and it is very easy to sand. It's like a superfine bondo.
You could use that after sanding the eyelids as smooth as you can get them.
The 2k paint is mixed with 30% hardener and dries shiny and doesn't require a clear coat.
It's also a lot more flexible than the 2 stage paint.
For such a small area you can get a pint and it is probably the best bet .
If you can find a spray can with the exact same color you have then that would be the cheapest thing to do paint wise.
You may want to get this ready and then tape it off and paint it on the car instead of trying to put it on the car after painting it.
The tape idea is just to see if you like the headlights painted like the eyebrows.

What I mean is that you can just paint the eyebrows on the headlights without using what you got.
It wouldn't be as thick as the eyebrows but would look essentially the same.

Thanks, now I got yah.

I think somewhere in the middle you got confused and started talking about angel eyes...lol

Im gunna try that spot putty idea out cause I allready have them on a spare set of lights all taped and ready for paint. I thnk if I add a thin layer of that just to smooth out the waves Ill be pleased and they wont look so cheap. If not they were free so its not that big of a deal to tear em off and make my own, I do wish they had come down about a half inch more.

Thanks!

I have the exact same problem with my eyebrows i installed too. they got real wavy, and wouldn't stay adhered. I bought some more 3M trim adhesive, and applied that around the border of the eyebrows, hoping that would help. Of course, the wavy look got even worse, and i didn't add any to the rest of the underside, so the middle has just a little flex, like it isn't adhered in the center. I'll have to do the spot putty, sanding thing to see if that works. Mine are getting painted by the shop (along with my hood and mclaren grille) pretty soon. Hopefully it works out well.

I used a GE silicone to hold mine down and so far it seems to hold.

Is the paint shop going to do the putty or do you have to do it before you take them in?

I'm going to stop by the shop tomorrow and see what they would charge. If it's too high, i'll try it myself.

Who am i kidding... i've never tried body work before. maybe i should just have them do it. i'll let you know how it goes.

Thats insane, the Mc Laren grille isn't even that much, not even from LSK them self. It cost around 60$ for that around here just like at LS Koncepts. They quoted me $60 plus tax and maybe some extra depending on how the job goes.

Where'd you get these eyebrows from? sounds like you should be talking to that seller about your problem...maybe they can help.
