Hi guys,

I hopefully some can give me a hand... the previous owner of my car added a jack so you can hookup ipod or MP3 player. I have 2003 LS Ultimate with the THX sound package.

I just can't figure what to set the stock THX deck to so the music plays. :(

I've search a few thread and by the sounds of it on 2006 the SAT button works as the aux input. I tried just about everything I could think of but nothing works. It's probably really simple too!

Here's some pics of the jack:

Thanks!

Looks like the input has an on/off switch. Silly question, but did you check that?

Since it has an on/off button, I'd bet that it is just an RF modulator and you have to tune to a particular FM station to get the input.

It's an one of those fm transmitters that connect through the car's antenna. Crackerjack has one of those, I think it was him, and so do I. Turn on module and go to 87.9, It's what I have mine too, I dont remember if there are 3 stations that will get it or only this one.

It's considered a fm modulator. Much like a fm transmitter but the mod is tied in directly using the antenna.

its 87.9 or 88.3 are the only 2 stations you can set the modulator too...If you have a mp3 player ect hooked up to it(the jack) you will not beable to get radio stations,. The green toggle will alow you to turn off the signal to the mp3 player so you can listen to the radio.. Its a scoche fmmod02 i believe. I'm rockin the same one.

correct, FM mod.

to find the core correct freq, turn it on and then hit the seek button while something is playing, other that super strong local stations, that should be one of the very few stations it should stop at.

Thanks for all the replies guys! :)

I thought it might work that way but didn't know which station to try... I searched for stations but didn't find one that worked.

I'll give those two ago! :D

For some reason I would never have expected you to be using one of those.

Just a temporary way of getting sound for the tv tuner. I have a ipod interface to play sound from the video interface, but no way of playing the sound from the tv tuner since it uses aux outputs. At the time I didn't want to spend 150 to get the ipod interface that also had an aux inputs so I just went with this modulator. I'll be changing it up come summer though.

What do you have in mind?

Ive been eyeing the 7" pioneer deck. along with sending my sub back to aq and getting and hdc off them and a 1200rms amp and rebuilding the box to a ported enclosure instead of the sealed i have now.

And of course dynamatting the trunk.

oh nothing like that. I just meant I will be getting rid of the fm modulator and get the ipod interface that can play ipod and the tv tuner from the unit. The thx system is good enough for me, plus I rather have a clean looking stock unit. If my car didn't have the thx system, I would definitely upgrade it all and go with an aftermaket unit

87.9 worked for me. :)

Seems to only get power when I have the car running, not when the key is set to ACC.
Oh well, I'll probably pick up a better ipod module some time later.

Thanks again! :D
