Expert Help NEEDED!!!

I know this is like the thousandth time a thread has been posted about sensor lowering but screw it. Today me and my brother tried to tackle the task. The rear came out nice. The front we screwed up. We must have not understood the directions correctly and extended the sensors (we drilled a new hole below the factory one in the bracket) Im assuming you are supposed to do the opposite? Where do I drill the new hole?? I thought I was all set and then we started the car and the rear lowered nicely and the front rose until it had about 6 inches of wheel gap, it was ridiculous. Im so frustrated right Now!!!:mad: Please help me out. What are the front sensors supposed to do!?

when the front sensors are squashed the car thinks that it is to high and lowers it self... watch the sensor as you jack up the front of the car. the more you squeez the sensor the higher it thinks it is. so raising the sensor up will make it lower more. be careful when raising them up if you jack on them to hard you can break them. i raised my bolt up about .5 inches or so and squashed the sensors as far as i felt safe. it lower to where i have about 2 inches of wheel gap maybe less. a little goes a long way. make sure you get it aligned when you finish


also pull the bolts off the bracket, squash the sensor, if your going all the way, mark the center of the new hole where the bracket falls all the way squashed and drill there. then bolt her up
 
I moved up the front sensors. They feel like they are compressed as much as they can go. So I dropped her down, hit the switch and waited. It dropped back down from grossly raised to about an inch lower than the original stock height. I mean with the sensors basically completely squished, shouldn't it be lower than it is? I can fit about 2 fingers in between the tire and the fender. Im pissed.
 
it depends on the sensors, they are all different. your only other option is to try new sensors or disconnect the sensors and move the bracket up some more, then with weight on the suspension reconnect the sensor, you will just have to remember to disconnect it any time you want to jack up the car.
 
Wait, Im supposed to reconnect the sensor when the weight is on the car? Why would that matter if the car is off and the air ride switch is off.
 
I think I know what your saying but i feel like i can squish the sensors anymore they feel full compressed. Is it possible that i screwed all up when i extended them?
 
you prob didnt screw them up, they all vary dont know why its just the way they were made. what i meant though was to take off the sensor, drill you a hole a little further up and install the mount, then put the tires on the ground or ramps and slowly let the car down on to the suspension then clip the sensor back on. again remember to remove them before jacking the car back up because that will put alot of weight on them. basically you want the suspension to travel up a little bit to clip them back on, this will make it so that they are squished even more at stock height. hope this helps

In spite of maybe sounding stupid, make certain you put the bolt in the correct hole-when you remove the bracket, there were two holes-if you put the newly drilled hole to the bottom drilled frame hole, you actually raised the front (lowering the bracket) more than it was previously-it can, and does happen.
 
I know what your sayin, but its all set now.
