so i've found some 5x4.5'' hubs from a 94 Mark parts car; the seller has pulled the wheel assemblies starting with the knuckles...still assembled is the hub, rotor, calipers, cradles (front) and knuckles.....
-now I'm looking for suggestions on rims and tires.
.. planning to do 245's on all 4 corners;245/50/17 tires are gonna be $$$$$;
-I think I found (locally) some 5 spoke chrome rims from an '04 Cobra for $375 or less, hard to do better than that probably?

If I was hubswapped these are the rims I'd put on mine

Those 03/04 cobras fit but stick pretty far out and interfere with the fender lip due to the offset. These 96/97 cobra wheels are probably close to the same offset however are 17x8s so you could get away with wider rubber which looks way better than the thin stretched tires you would need for wider wheels. There's only like two other marks I've ever seen with these but I love em, and are dirt cheap now.

I have 18" Nexxen 5000 tires on the blown 97. (Just up front) They are a good high speed rated all season tire. I priced them out here local at a tire shop so that I can take the drag radials off the back. They quoted me like $150 each which I thought was surprisingly reasonable. You may be surprised at how good of a price you can get on a quality 17" tire.

this is what those 96 cobra wheels look like on a tbird

Where did you get this picture? The guy who used to own this lives down the street from me. This car is what turned me on to wanting these wheels on my mark. This was a sweet ride.

that's not a bad look..not at all...
-I just went deep into the woods of north Georgia to get the 94 Mark parts: all 4 hubs (5x4.5'') including rotors, calipers, and knuckles; all seats and door panels; spare tire cover, ABS pump, ext door handles, IMRC's; blend door actuator; stereo...$225!
-now I need wheels!

i just did a search on cobra wheels. there is a blue tbird that has the same rims and looks better.
here is the blue one.

I have 255's on all 4 corners and they don't rub at all. Can't find any pics at the moment....but they look meaty! :D

i think these look better on that bird than on mustangs; since the offset is right I may go that route; this guy says these are in VGC, just need cleaning...$125 for all 4!

hmmm, different cap though, damn PONY

I now have to find a decent set of rear tires for the 17x9's but I am looking for the right tread :shifty:

Of course everything that looks exceptable to me is god awful expensive :(

i just destroyed the plastic upper connection on my radiator....wheels are a long ways off now!

Radiators are cheap and easy to replace on these cars..too bad this didn't happen like a month ago, Amazon had them on sale for like $25 or something.

I threw the 96 mystic wheels on my mark and loved the way it looked but the 98 cobra wheels on the mystic looked out of place. So I ended up swapping back....

this guy only wants 400 and sounds like he might take less; plus he's throwing in a spare tire...could be a good deal!
