I've had my 2000 Ls v8 for about 3 weeks now
The previous owner said it had straight pipes
The exhaust was cut from the axles back
But in front of them I see what looks like two more mufflers
How many mufflers Are these cars supposed to have and where are they located

two mufflers behind the axel, two resonators in front of the axle

My Ls has no mufflers
So would removing the resonators an replacing them with SLP loudmouth 2 mufflers have a drastic change in exhaust tone?would it be better just to add mufflers?

I would get on youtube and listen to exhaust clips of Lincoln ls's

each set up will sound different so its hard to say what a car will sound like with any one set up.

If you want it loud then put on the slp mufflers see how you like it. If you want it louder then cut out the resonators and replace with a straight pipe or x-pipe

personally, i would put an X pipe up at the front, straight pipe all the way back and mufflers of your choice in the rear.

if the mufflers you choose are small enough, you may be able to have them placed in the middle and then just have straight pipe out the back. i always prefer the sound of a system with the mufflers in the middle as opposed to the back of the car but they dont always fit well like that.

The SLP mufflers are the bullet style so I'm pretty sure they'll fit in place of the resonators
