Thanks to all who have shared. Working on a 2000 LS with the 3.9 and 200,000 miles. On start up and when stationary, fumes from a leaking EGR valve entered the interior. Cause was corroded bolts. Replaced them and a new gasket, we breathe easier. Hope this proves helpful.

I have an 03 that dumps exhaust directly into the air vents upon cold-start. I’m going to try this and hope it helps. It’s enough to make you choke. Once it’s warm at all it doesn’t do it.
