i finally decided to do a custom exhaust. i 'm just putting mufflers and 4" tips might remove the ressonators later on. i wonder if this will fit the 2005 ls. im mostly concerned about the body type and overall length.

If I'm not mistaken the LS exhaust is actually 2.25", other than that, the dimensions are the same as the flowmaster 40s I just put on my 03V8.

The LS exhaust may get up to 2" at some spots but the point where the pipe goes into the muffler on the stock LS is only 1 7/8". I ran a 2.5" on my 02, lots of lost torque. I run a 2.25" on my 04 and it is more responsive all around.

If you are doing a custom exhaust, for the price of those Flowmasters you might as well get a stainless muffler like a Magnaflow that wont fall apart over time. I have Magnaflow 12225 mufflers in my car now. Ive seen the internals on those FlowMasters start to rattle after a couple of years on the car.
