Here's another little collection of the goings on today. My car was a bit more of a hit than previously as I ran into a couple that was intensely into Astons. The guy regularly attends the Monterey Concours de Elegance and told me that my car belonged there, that it was very beautiful and unusual and in amazing condition. Wow. High compliments.

We then went on a 'spirited' drive afterwards and I guess I impressed the young owners of the ricers I was driving with. I hung with all of them through the hills no problem. I think I made some new friends today!! And I may just be starting to open some eyes on this coast as to how unique and excellent Mark VIIIs are. GOOD DAY... except for the Ravens. Cheers! :D

Oh, this AMG has my attention. What an amazing car. Just think, that's about 25 Mark VIIIs!!! Hmmm... think I'll take my VIII :p

This guy in front of me had his car tuned so rich that I thought I was going to pass out driving behind him.

SHORT VID

Jeez your rims are so chrome and shiny that your camera has trouble focusing lol

Your car makes me want a full body paint so bad. I think when I do save enough to have a pro do it, I'm gonna have it Black Pearled.
The RX7 is sweet looking, but I'd much rather have the Supra

I always liked Supras better, too. The RX has a really cool paint job that looks black most of the time with a super dark cherry underneath, but it's kind of a piece. So is the Supra. They both have scratches everywhere, junk all over the inside and really STUPID sounding, lawn mower exhaust systems.

In my little humble opinion, the Mark just blows those particular cars out of the water. Nobody even stopped to look at either of them. What's wonderful about the Mark is that I've seen fewer than five in this area. Mustangs, though I love the new ones, Supras, RX8s, Mitsubishis, etc., are a dime a dozen. It's so much fun to have something so beautiful and so unique, but it really bums me out that I can't get together with other Mark owners. It would be immeasurably more fun to be driving in a group of Lincolns :(. Well, I'm just going to have to pick an event and make a monster road trip, I guess. :D

As to the paint, Sapper, I'm with you. My paint photographs extremely well, but the imperfections and few remaining water spots drive me out of mind. I would also adore to have a Black Pearled paint job. Apparently, I have access to a great shop that will do a two stage for $800 if the car is completely prepaired. That could be within reach...
