I have a 05 Lincoln LS 3.9 liter v8. Two months ago I started having a problem once a week with the car giving an ETC fail safe code message and the car reducing power and going about thirty mph. Then it progressed to two to three times a week. Now I cannot start the engine and get out of the driveway before it goes into fail safe mode. I took the car to my local FORD dealership. They gave me the codes and told me the throttle body needed to be replaced. Come on, the car only has 66,000 miles on it! I have read the forum threads on here and replaced coils 1 through four. Though it sounded good enough, it didn't solve the problem. So now if I have to replace the throttle body does anyone know the best place to get one, or is there yet another solution to try. I have already spent 350.00. Any advice? If I restart the car the problem goes away til it happens again. The CEL stays on regardless though.

I would change out all the coils and plugs since I went through it already, most say change all the coils at the same time too.. Same thing as you, etc failsafe, dealersaid throttle body so I bought one and installed myself but problem still there. Came on here and found out coils were the problem. I change 2 and problem fixed for 2 weeks until another 2 coils began to fail. I just change them all out after that and problem solved.

If you still want to buy a throttle body, call max at 5 star ford for great prices. Make sure you tell him your from lvc to get the discount. His add over there >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
