We all know that the Mark is advertise at 280 hp, and the LSC is rated at 299. What I would like to know from those who have dyno'd their Marks, a bone stock Mark, what is actually the hp put to the wheels, and at the crank?

Then with a true dual exhaust, what is the hp to the wheels and at the crank?

I don't have the luxury to have my Mark dyno'd yet, but I plan to. I am just trying to get an estimation. My Mark has true dual exhaust, March Performance dampner pulley, Meziere Electric Water Pump, and a performance tune from BOC. With that said, what would be my estimated overall hp? HP to the wheels? HP to the crank?

I would guess around 235 at the wheels

Totally stock is typically close to 220 at the wheels so would think he should be over 240. I would think a 93 octane tune would get him over 230. The exhaust and electric water pump should be enough to get another 10hp at the wheels. But I'm just guessing.

The Thundermark (95 DOHC) with a conical filter, tune, Kooks headers with 2.5" exhaust made 242 hp and 251tq at the wheels.

It sounds like a ton of mods would be needed to even get the car to 300hp at the wheels. Without supercharging and NOS, what would be needed?

here is my dyno from a few years ago, stock exhaust with pluged cats and no mufflers.

Driller has every single bolt on and tweak done to his Mark and I don't even think he has 300 rwhp.

LOL, not every single bolt-on, but close. Actually, the last two dynos I had were suspect but they were 260ish, a lonnnnnng ways from 300. ;)

I'm looking at another dyno again. Maybe Carlisle?

Problem is they need to hold the tranny in 3rd and lockup the TC for true numbers, not many can do that.

It is definitely doable. Prenty of Cobra guys have done it. It takes more then bolt ons though. I think with cams and a worked over cobra intake along with the typical bolt ons will get you close.

Greg, most of the lightly modded or stock mark 8's around here I see anywhere from 200 RWHP to 235 RWHP.

Let me know and we'll get your car on the dyno someplace..I know a couple of places.

I had a mustang with an 01 Cobra engine, 302 stroker, SHM stage 1 heads, blower cams, exhaust, tune, 3.73 and an AODE and I was at 302 hp and 311ft lbs tq. I don't see why that can not be acheived in a Mark. A 302 or 324 stroker, 04 Cobra heads, Mach 1 or 99/01 Cobra intake, different cams, true duals and a Dyno tune I would think you would be at 300hp to the wheels.
I would think with what you have now you would be at 235-245 rwhp depending on tune.

H/C/I and bolt-ons with a tune will net you over 300rwhp with this engine and the 4R tranny behind it.

oh yeah!!! according to the g-tech mine makes 520 rwhp. so obviously the lvc stickers and the cobrastars make a BIG difference, oh and i removed my air silencer WHOOT!!!! then the second try it was 244 rwhp, which is probably closer to what it actually is and the 1/4 mile times were about right for a "hot lap"
