Error Codes 542 and 543 Help !

My 94 Mark VIII has these error codes coming up associated with slight hesitation from the motor when accelerating from a dead stop. My mechanic tells me a tune up would fix this problem and it hasn't.

HAS ANYONE had experience with these codes ? Im tired of paying mechanics. Is this something I can do myself ?

542 O,C Fuel Pump circuit open; PCM to motor
543 O,C Fuel Pump circuit open; Battery to PCM

Wait, so ur mechanic saw these codes and thought some plugs n wires would fix it? If so you need a new mechanic.
