Engine takes forever to come down from revving

OK, a minor issue I suppose, but still kind of annoying.

When I put it in neutral and stab the accelerator quickly just for the sound, instead of a sharp rev and a quick drop back to idle, it revs up and then sloooooooooly comes back down to an idle. Doesnt sound nearly as cool.

Is this normal or a sign of a problem?

Its normal. Has to do with the air bypass motor. Might be fixable with a tune, you can try asking one of our resident Xcal tuners. (just search you'll find them)

Either that or he has the gen2 ('03+) model which has the TBW instead of the throttle cable.

So Owl, which is it? 00-02 or 03-06 ?

Good point, mine does the same thing so I just kind of assumed. Never has bothered me though.

its a 1st gen (2001 v8). Any easy way around it? (And by easy I mean cheap, without droppin hundreds on an xcal.) Engine sounds good, wish I could give it a couple nice revs to show it off...
