Hey guys, need some help with my 96 Mark VIII. There is a noticable squeeking coming from the engine bay, the engine has a relatively new belt and brand new idler pulley. Belt looks like it's in good shape, any ideas on what can be causing the squeeking? It's louder on cold start ups.

Even the alternator..... or water pump maybe.

Best thing to do is remove the belt and spin those puppies as fast as ya can.

Well there's little to no play in the tensioner, i'm thinking tensioner pulley? It doesn't sound like the noise is coming from the alternator or water pump, it seems like its coming from the tensioner/pulley area... would an alternator making a squeeking noise before going out?

The amount of play is never an indicator, but lots of play is never good.
