Hey guys sorry I didn't search ahead of time but I have no access to a computer on the weekends so I have only my phone. Anyways it poured hard today and as I was driving through a ton of puddles and rain I noticed no issues with the car. However I turned it off and when I came out of the gym the engine light was on. I since have been driving for about 20 minutes and it went off on its own. Is this any concern ? I'm traveling down to the beach an just want to know if I should turn around and head to the mechanic or if it'll be ok. I noticed no loss of power. No issues. Changed the could and plugs about 3000 miles ago as an FYI

It could be any one or more of a thousand issues. As long as the light isn't flashing, it's not urgent. You can wait a few days to check it out.

Thanks joe. It was there for about 15-20 mins and went away. Hasn't come back. I'll check it out on Monday.

You should be able to get the computer checked at any Auto Zone, hopefully there are some codes set in the computer still. What you most likely have is a sensor that is getting water into the wiring and shorting out, or perhaps a leak into the coil area. Historical codes will show you where to start.

Thanks guys I made it. Hour and a half. Never came back on never struggled or showed me any obvious signs of any issues. I'll try to take it to an autozone on Sunday. Once again I appreciate the replies

Good deal. Don't be surprised if there are no codes though as repeated engine cycles (cold to warm to cold, or X number of miles) will clear some codes. If nothing is found, next time it happens go straight to a parts store to get the codes read.
