Engine light because of air filter?

evrybody makes mistakes...ESPECIALLY when working on the LS. If you have a cyl one misfire the culprits should be a coil, spark plug, or possibly fuel injector. If there was oil in the well when he replaced it then it wouldn't be inconceivable to think the new coil is already going bad. did you use an oem replacement coil?

I guess you're right, how could I know for sure that everything was done properly, I just need to trust that he knows what hes doing. The coil was bought from the dealership.

What about the spark plug? Did you or your mechanic check it out like mentioned earlier? That might be the problem.

Yeah, I have a question about this too. I have a 2006 V8 and installed the K&N Typhoon from LSK. It worked great but then today, I turn my car on and see the following message:

ETC ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE

What does that error mean? I tried searching but only got hits that had "engine" and "mode"... Has anyone had this problem before?

I had this both ways, once it was the TPS (throttle position sensor) so I replaced it, the next it was the MAF that had came loose. BTW, you get to take the whole throttle body off to replace that TPS - fun fun fun.
