engine coolant

Hello everyone ~

After watching the races yesterday LOL
I just happened to check my engine coolant reservoir and noticed that I was a little low.. According to my owners guide, it's telling me to use a 50/50 mixture of distilled water and motorcraft premium gold engine coolant. Is that set in stone ? Or can I use a mixture of distilled water and any type of antifreeze ? and if so, what brand do you suggest ?

Ive always been told to use what is already in there. ex: Mine has green coolant, so i always top off with green
