so i was on the highway and i hit a raccoon and it EFFED up the under carriage of my LS. so i had to have my radiator and condenser replaced. i took it to a family friend who works on cars for a living and he replaced the radiator for me but not yet with the condenser/AC. now when i start my car, im not sure if its the engine or what but it makes his jolting sound and the car shakes a little bit. like little shakes. and when i start driving it and does a bit of jolting too. but not too much but it is noticeable. also the check engine light it on but it is NOT blinking or flashing. so i was wondering if someone could possible tell me whats wrong before i take it to get it read. oh by the way, its a 2004 LS V8 with about 80k miles, maybe 82k. any help is appreciated :)

It is probably whatever is throwing the code to turn on your check engine light. Get the code read first. That will help alot

I would suspect he forgot to plug a sensor back in. Like the MAF.

if its the sensor, is there any way i can plug it in myself? if so, how?

Yep. Just look for a connector (plug) laying around and see if there is a connection close by that needs the plug. It should be fairly obvious when you start looking.

ok thanks. do i have to jack the car up or can i just do it looking under the hood?

you'lll need to look everywhere, if you can find it, take it to a parts store and ask them to see what the code is (they'll do it for free). that will help narrow it down... they'll probably find it and plug it back in for you... if thats the problem. A light can be serious... even if its not flashing. dont risk it!!!!!!!

go get your codes read.. after you get the codes we can guide you a little bit better. As of right now it sounds like something left unplugged or something cut off when you hit the raccoon(cable/connector)?

Did you hit chip or dale? Get the codes read it will help us help you greatly go to AutoZone they do it foe free

P0301
P0316
P0355

P0133 - O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response Bank 1 Sensor 1
Note that this may not be a problem with the O2 sensor, it is probably a result of the other engine problems.

P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected
Coil failure is common on the LS. This may not be related to the front end damage.

P0316 - Engine Misfire Detected on Startup (First 1000 Revolutions)

P0355 - Ignition Coil "E" Primary/Secondary Circuit
This means that either the #5 coil is bad, or the wiring to it is damaged. Usually, it will be the connector at the coil. Sometimes it is the PCM. (The PCM can be damaged if you go too long with a bad coil.)

ok thanks so much. but what exactly do these mean? especislly the engine misfire one. and how would i go about fixing them? cost?

Well seeing your car is a 04 with under 100k miles, the dealership will stress test the coils and replace any bad coils for free. Take it to them and let them know you know that they have to test and replace any bad coil on your car. I'm sure somebody will chime in with the document that you can print out and bring as proof that they have to do it for free.

they will fix it for free even if i didnt buy the car from them?

Yes, subject to the exception noted above.
(They won't be doing it for free, Ford will pay the bill, after a discount.)
