EMERGENCY!!! someone please respond fast. I locked my keys in the trunk!

My trunk release is right next to the gas door release. Right underneath the headlight dial, left side of the steering column.

On the 2000 LS is the same as the 2nd gen. Then they moved it to the glove box for 2001 & 2002?

I don't recall exactly. I onlyl know there is a valet button in the glove box in the 2001/2002. It's not a trunk release. Dunno if there is an actual trunk release in the glove box.

Got it.....and on the 2nd gen the lock out is a key way in the center of the trunk release button in the the same location as you said left of the steering wheel.

Just to let everyone know, JOEGR's advice worked and was prettty brilliant at that. good stuff man:bowrofl:

Every Ford vehicle with a keypad has a default code for that vehicle. I forget where it is, its somewhere accessible from outside if I remember. My uncle uses it when he forgets the code for the Excursion, he showed me once like a year or two ago... I will check into that this thanksgiving and give you guys a heads up :D

Urban myth for the Lincoln LS. Do a search, never been found, you have to go to a dealer to read code on the Lincoln LS. The default code comes on a credit type card along with the owners manual.

Not the LS. Many have looked. It's not even on the label on the driver's door module (where the code is stored). I've had Grand Marquis, and they all had the code on a label on the trunk hinge. Not all cars are the same, the LS doesn't have a code label anywhere but the card in the owner's manual.

There's no need to have to remember the factory code. You can set multiple personal codes. Use the factory code once to do this, then use a code that you can always remember.

Had the same problem, and the dealership could not make me a key for some reason. What you do is ,take the trunk switch loose ,then take gas switch loose, put a small peice of foil from cig. pack from one side to the other on trunk switch, the you take single piece of foil or wire ,put it in the back of the gas switch, touch them together and trunk pops ,problem solved, after I beat on my trunk key hole with a chisel for 15 mins. thought to do that lol

There's an easier (and safer) way, posted earlier in this thread.
"Okay, I assume that you don't know the code to the keypad on the driver's door. (If you do, then enter the code followed by "5" and your trunk will open.)

Under the dash, behind the trunk unlock button are two wires. Disconnect then from the button and use an unbent paperclip to short the two wires together. The trunk will open."

man wish i knew this would have saved me 100bucks locksmith man...
