Electric Supercharger

If you read the BMW stuff you'll find that the 'electric' part of their turbo set-up is designed only to help 'spool-up' for brief periods and as an adjunct to act as a generator to help keep the battery charged.

Being just a little scientific, a 'charger that relies only on electricity won't ever work. If you care, look into it.

Sure it can. You just need a semi pulling a trailer next to you with a huge set of batteries or a decent sized generator. Of course, you'd still have to remove much of your engine to make way for the electric motor.

Of course, at that point why not skip the combustion engine and the supercharger and just use the electric motor to drive the wheels.

So...what you're saying is that this would totally work in a diesel/electric-locomotive-runs-parallel-to-the-highway-with-really-long-extension-cords scenario. Or are you just hatin'?
