Ebay is full of good stuff today! Nice OZ's!

oh that's hot, those with that great offset and some 255/40/18 tires would be theeeee poop.

I hope to see these on either a black 06 or any Silver LS

Thinking about these, but I'm not too crazy about the offset combined with the width. They will stick out ~1" further than stock. We'll see.....

If you don't grab them I might..... been looking for some nice 18's.
Bad time to be spending the money, though....

you like that ADR look huh Jwerner? i think they would look nice on a silver LS IMO

Well the ARDs have the tilt to the spokes which dont impress me much ( or at least didnt till LongislandLSE got his ) and these dont. I love my Meshies but if I was still holding out and looking I would have snagged these things. Im looking into others come the end of summer and doubt this kind of deal would be available. I paid just more than that for my ADRs I think and these are superior!

The offset combined with width is not a problem. I have +38 with that width and I still have some space till it even sits flush, not much but enough not to worry about rubbing or poke.

Why are people so obsessed with having wheels sit back so far into the wheel well? It was a poor decision to make that high offset with this vehicle and its skinny wheels when it could be increased with no problems what so ever.

I, for one, don't want to put too much extra stress on the suspension components nor do I want a rub. I did rub with 40mm Voxx 18X8 wheels and 245/45 tires. I had to go to a 245/40 which was too small. I have 45mm MB 18X7.5 wheels with 245/45s on my wife's LS with no rubbing. Here is a good tool.

I'll leave the decision on the factory offset to the engineers. IMHO, F1 experience beats my shadetree experience any day. I do understand there were necessary compromises; as the lead engineer said the LS needed about a 3/4" drop to be perfect.

There is absolutely no way it is going to stress suspension components.

245/40 is not small, maybe for you personal preference but it does work.

Im sure the engineers made it that way to stay within a conservative limit but as I said it could be better with no problems-only enhancement.

They engineer lots of cars with less then optimal performance in mind.

Im not being offensive but it is known that we have a good suspension and it is known that with the small enhancements like a wider wheel and slightly more aggressive offset it can only improve. And yes there is a limit to that but a +45 offset on a 8.5" wide wheel will work fine for the LS.

EDIT: Sorry, I felt I should add that the comment was not directed towards you only.

You know what, i wasnt too sure about the tilt also but when i put them on i was very happy with how they look. If i didnt just get the ADR's and it wasnt winter i would definitely put these on my silver LS.

It may or may not be a significant difference, but when you move way from the factory 60mm offset, you will change the stresses on the suspension components, and some of them will be stressed more because of that.

I know that you can run chances of doing so I just feel that the factory offset is well within the limits for this vehicle with room to spare before you do so with such wheels as I posted. Like I said they engineer lots of things well with in its true limits.

Maybe Im wrong but I don't see anything happening.

You may be right, and moving the offset by 14mm (or 25mm) may be well within the tolerances of the suspension's components. My point is not that using a wheel with a non-factory offset is bad, it's just that saying it "absolutely" won't stress the suspension is incorrect. It may or may not significantly change the stresses on the suspension, but it will change them.

The only way to know (rather than "feel") if the changes are significant is to run the numbers. Given that there are quite a few LSes out there running non-factory offsets and there haven't been a bunch of wheel bearing/etc failures, my guess is that you're correct about the tolerances, but that's all it is--a guess...

Sorry I do realize that comment was to brief and should have been better thought out.

I just look at the LS and notice it has this wide track stance without wide body fender flares and dont understand why they would not have utilized that extra space. Now giving the standard wheel width along with the high offset they used it makes me think they just wanted to keep it conservative.

Well, actually they use big tires and it is a passenger car with comfort in mind so maybe that is why they decided to go with the wheels and offset they did. maybe to help fit the larger tires.

lowing a car puts more stress on suspension then offset of a wheel ever will

 Weren't you just making a big deal about the offset:D

Cant wait to see 'em! What color is your car? :D

I wasn't sure about the offset with the "extra" inch of width. There was also the tire size he was offering; 225/40 which would throw the speedometer off over 4%! He was very accommodating with an alternate size. I would not have hesitated a bit if the wheel were 7 1/2" wide. I have a 7 1/2" wide with a 45mm offset MB wheel on my wife's '06 without any issues. After some calculations and measurements I figured I'd be OK. I also wanted a chrome wheel, but this deal was too good to pass up.

They're going on a silver LS.

That 225/40 is a mild stretch for a 8.5" width so it would clear with no rubbing but yeah it could have messed with the speedo.

Cant wait to see 'em on a silver LS!

Man, I'm jealous. Just couldn't do it now, my wife's hours are cut at work, and so are mine. (I work for an automotive supplier.) Hopefully in spring!
