It could be free, and I still wouldn't touch it. It's too much work and spilled coolant for something that may only last a month or less. (The aftermarket one I tried didn't even make it a month before it started blasting hot and cold.)

Maybe you got lucky, or maybe it will fail tomorrow.
 
Hey for $37 I'll go for it. I've had good luck with cheapo parts from China. Well everything is made in China anymore,
