Any rotors will rust on the swept area. The pads wear through any coating the rotor has applied to it. It is the rest of the rotor you don't want to rust.

I'm kinda interested in the details of the accident, to see how well the LS held up. How fast where you going? What angle did you and the van hit? Did the airbags deploy? What is the actual damage to your car? Who was at fault? How much damage was done to the van?


i was going between 40-60.. i was going to hit the van head on but at the last minute I pulled right and my left fender/rim hit his right quarter panel.. it was a 95 dodge caravan.. i broke his back and side window, bumper, fender, popped his tire.. etc...the air bag did NOT deploy, even though i thought it would and the actual damage to the car will be checked this week.. the shops here have been closed for the holidays..
