Anyone try E3 plugs? They had them on the dyno on motortrend tv or whatever, added HP and MPG over other premium plugs. I did some reearch and read some reviews so I bought them to try, but I dont know how to change the plugs on my 96. The boot seems pretty stuck on their and I didnt want to force it. So I got it over at a mechanic, he said autolites or motorcraft (the one that makes ford oem plugs) is what needs to go in and doesnt really want to put the e3's in.

I'm sure stock plugs are fine and will work great, but why half ass something like plugs? Get the best you can and feel better about putting miles on the car.

Lots of opinions (like other things):D on here about plugs, in my second Gen one I have Bosch Platinum+4's (I had them in my first also, and they both ran/run great). If you read opinions on here in some places, it is a wonder my car runs at all...
If you have decent voltage (battery and alternator), decent coils (I have stock) and decent compression, with good fuel delivery, the type of plugs (nonwithstanding the heat range) should not be a giant factor IMO.
Platnium just means you will not have to replace them so often that you risk stripping one of those shallow threads and toss it at high RPM toward you hood, ruining your day.
