Well guys, as many of you may know, I'v been having A LOT of issues with my 2000 LS V8 lately. It's been one thing after another.. It started to become more stress than it was worth so today I went out and got a new car! I got a silver 2011 VW Jetta SE. This is my starter car, since I need to build some credit so I can buy the luxury car I'll need for my career, but this car is beautiful.. It looks beautiful and drives amazing (as all German cars do). And for a 4 Cylinder, it has nice pick up. It's no V8 power, but it's a nice, smooth, quiet, riding car.

I still have my LS but will probably sell it or something.. I really appreciate the help from everyone here and I'v learned a lot about cars in general from the amazing people on this forum.. I'll probably still check out the forum, because I love seeing what you guys do to these LS' but it's just not for me anymore.. Thanks everyone! G-Rell, mlra, LS08, the guy with the Jag (can't remember username), and many others, I appreciate you all!

Not surprised. Good luck to you. I'd say you chose wisely at this point in your driving life!

Good bye and good luck. If you ever get a "luxury" car post some pictures.

Will do, Rod! Thanks! I tried to finance a C-Class (that was my original plan) but no bank would accept my loan for that caliber of car at 18 with no credit. I turned 18 literally last week, so had to start somewhere!

Good luck!

Thank you!

Wish you the best man and enjoy the newer vehicle.

Thanks, marcredd! You've helped a lot as well!

Not surprised at all. It can be very discouraging when you have problem after problem.

I would have spent half as much on something older and nicer, but to each his own.

Not bad, while it may not be a luxury brand it does look like a nice car. Keep it super clean and waxed and it'll do you a good job as a realtor's car. Good luck in your career.

Yes it was becoming very very discouraging. I still love my LS, still love the car itself, and still think it's a beautiful car. It just wasn't for me anymore..

The reason I went with the Jetta SE is because I love German cars for one. I think they're really nice looking and usually they don't try to put too much of a "futuristic flare" to them, they're just nice looking cars. They also drive beautifully! On my way to work today I decided to test it out so I went up to 105 MPH and it was just as smooth as when I was going 60 and just as quiet, no road noise! And the Jetta SE has many of the luxury features without the big price tag, so it was perfect for an 18 year old like myself who is trying to build upon something and grow my credit.

Thanks, Telco! That's my same thought on it, it isn't "classified" as luxury but it's a nice, comfortable, good quality car that looks great driving down the road. Definitely going to keep her cleaned up and looking beautiful! Thanks for all your previous help with my LS!

I've never been more happy to see an LS go!!! LOL... Glad you found something you like! BEST OF LUCK BUDDY... but again, speaking from experience, don't get wrapped up to much in the appearance thing, you'll do far better in your career (and life) if you dont.... HOPE ALL GOES WELL IN THE FUTURE... you've paid your car karma dues for awhile, so this one should be just fine!!!!

Haha, can't say I blame you! Thank you very much! I'll still be around on occasion checking out what everyone here is doing to their LS! I hope no one's LS takes the path that mine did, lol!

Good luck with the new one. At 18 I can't imagine how you are going to afford to drive a newer car with what you insurance is and still make the payments.

Good luck and post up what you eventually find with the LS.

I've been fortunate enough to have a really well paying job in Real Estate right now. My total insurance and car payment is around $600..

For the LS, I think I might just sell it or part it. I'm going to put it on the market and see what happens, haha!

Dibs on McLaren grille, jag wheels, OEM HIDs. Oh wait.. :shifty:

Good luck with the Jetta! I don't see myself buying a used car ever again, unless the miles are VERY low. I want to own and care for a car from day one because you never know how the one before you treated it.

LOL! Thank god I didn't put that much money into that car..

Thanks! The miles are low on this Jetta, still under factory warranties. I plan to always buy new or very lightly used cars from now on, starting with this Jetta. I have to admit, so far, I love it!

Wow, talk about a quick reply, I didn't manage to edit my post in time lol. It should be a substantially cheaper car to run as well. I bet it doesn't require premium gas, and parts should be much cheaper as well.

Oh yeah, it gets 24 MPG city and 31 MPG highway. Takes regular gas only, no premium like the LS (and in Florida the price difference between premium and regular is like 30 cents), and I do believe it'll be cheaper to maintain.

Best of luck dude. Should be nice driving a newer vehicle.

Good luck with the new car and most importantly with your career. You seem like an astute person, i am sure you will be hopping out of S 600s with Rollies on the wrist soon.

Just don't let anybody knock of your mental path, very important!!!

Nice job on the CL ad, very thorough and completely honest. I'd say it's a rarity on CL these days, but very good karma. You reap what you sow brother.

UPDATE: I have officially sold my LS. I sold it to the mechanic who I have had working on it for the past few months for $1,000. He plans to fix what's wrong and give it to an employee of his who desperately needs a car.

Although it has given me more problems than I could ever even imagine and cost me more money than the federal reserve prints, I loved that car and will miss it. I'll still be around though to hear everyone's LS stories and reminisce on my days as an LS owner!
