What all would have to be done to drop a 4.6 out of a Mustang GT into the LS? I'm guessing the transmission wouldn't even come close to handling it.

You would not have a street legal car when done. No safety systems/electronics would work. They are all co-dependent on other systems in the car.

To be specific to your trans question, the bell housing bolts don't line up.
