Is this standard? I was looking under the car when I changed the Tranny fluid to Merc V. I noticed the drivers side manifold was welded to the cat (no flange at all). I was planning on headers later but is this normal on the 94 Mark VIII? I am taking it to a mufler shop and getting a quote for straight pipes from the front cats back. I saw this and said WTF? can you guys help me out here?

If it is not normal any help on how to get to that manifol to remove it to replace it?

Any one know where I can get header for under 300?

Also If I unhook my EGR tube the check engine light comes on any idea?
There is a sensor on the pipe itself to tell the cpu when it is working.

The check engine light will come on, get your chip reworked and turn the point off.
