Driver side door lock help

97 LSC. When it gets below freezing my door will not unlock. The pass side works fine and the drivers has to be open from the inside. It tries to unlock but it wont pop up unless I open from the inside. What can I do to fix this?

sounds like either the actuator or the gear on the acuator is broken...

Would it be called a door lock actuator? Any idea what that would cost to fix?

more of a pita than expensive, no i dont have a parts list and labor rate in front of me.

if you DIY probably less than 100.
if you whore it out, probably 200-250
