OK, I am just being double-careful here. Sorry for a stupid question, but I can't help myself.

I just got new sport shocks, and an alignment was done.

On the shakeout voyage this weekend (3 hour drive to Asheville) I noticed a "new" sound. It's a whine:
- becomes noticeable about 30 mph
- pitch varies with speed (higher pitch with higher speed)
- sound doesn't change with road surface
- appears to come from the passenger front side of the car

To me, we're talking about a bearing. But I thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone can think of any reason why new shocks or an alignment could lead us to notice this problem now.

maybe a new wear on the tire??? if alignment was off for while (or bad now) you'd hear a tire "sound"...

make sure the dust plate wasn't bent and now hitting the rotor during install

or the bearing...

Thanks, G

Confirmed it was the bearing today. Having a new hub put on now.
