Has anyone used the dorman uppers, if so how much wear have you gotten out of them?

Back in October 2009 i rebuilt the entire front suspension (except the rack and outer tie rod ends) and after 2 years and a few months of driving the arnotts upper control arms are completely shot.

I've been hearing a clunk in the front end for a little bit and thought it was due to the cheap sway bar links but forgot I bought the OEM ford ones. So today I put it on the lift and found out both upper control arms are wasted. The bushings are completely gone and split on the passenger side and the balljoint is totally shot on the driver side.

Advance wants 106 a side
rockauto was like 78 or something for the linc arms and 50 for the bird ones

Since I'm currently on coil springs I bought both moog tbird uppers and got them for 102 shipped off rock auto with a 5% promo code, the same exact parts advance auto sells at half the price.

This is more of an informative post then anything else and just wanted to see if anyone had wear reports on the Dormans as you can pick them up for 39 each at the store or 23 each off rockauto.

I did not buy the dormans...so 3 posts down dont wanna see, buy moog! hahaha I did

Used dorman lowers on my old '93 no complaints

Have used dorman parts on many other vehicles and for the most part no real complaints...they offer lifetime warranty

When I went with new uppers on my '98 I went with napa's premium line very large upper balljoint compared to oem..my concern is how will the bushings hold up...so far about 6 months and 10,000miles no issues

Everyone will say trw or moog...I feel moogs quality has dropped off sharply in past few years

I dont think TRW is making the front uppers anymore, none of the local parts stores have them and werent listed on rockauto's site.

Federal mogul bought out moog and some parts are being made by Moog Only, last I looked you could still get some TRW lowers...in fact, moog doesnt make them for the supercoupe, you have to buy trw's.

Either way, TRW and Moog will eventually be one and the same.

Used dorman upper and lowers on mine. No complaints for the whole 6,000 miles I drove it before the trans started giving up

I installed Dorman uppers about 5000 miles ago and was just checking and greasing them today, they still look new and have had no problems out of them....from Rock Auto.
