I did a search and came up with 20 pages of poo..
How does the trim around the outside of the window come off the door?
I remember seeing a diagram in a thread and something about the clips breaking on the bottom chrome strip but I cant seem to find it anywhere.

No
Going by memory its 1 plastic one at the back of the door then 3 maybe 4 metal clips going forward then its wedged under the mirror
So after you get the clips loose you slide the trim towards the rear of the car to get it out from under the mirror

You are talking about the black piece that goes around the entire window opening, remove the door panel, it's bolted to the door under the door panel it's one whole piece and a pain in the ass to remove. Let me guess yours is all buldged out on the top corner where the 90 degree seem is right?

No, im preping the car for paint and I hate tape lines.

So are you going to take it all apart as in all glass, belt moldings, bumpers, headlights, tail lights, handles, mirrors, excetra. If not I can't stress enough you should.
