Door Lock Mechanism

I had to change my door handle, and I forgot the order of these two. Which goes first?

The metal part that the rod hooks to goes first; the top pic of the sensor with the wires goes on the end of the lock (last).

If that is the little wire thing that stops the alarm from going on, that is which is as far as I know, the only wires on that door key lock assembly.

That's how it was when I changed mine!

I didn't finish, the temp dropped 30 degrees in two hours yesterday.
