I don't understand why nobody will give 800.00 for a set of HIDs? People will pay 250.00x2=500 for bulbs. But won't buy new bulbs, lens and ballast. I know they have scratches on them but they are minimal. Its almost half of what I gave for them 2 months ago. I Know ford is going to ride in and save the day with thier new bulbs. But, I just don't think its going to be that easy. I guess I should just hang onto them and in a few years they will be worth double. Sorry for the rant. I get these people asking question on the auction site and then just disappear. I have recently seen sets go for 900.00 for used sets. I don't get it.
 
If the bulbs are used it makes some what of a problem for most people, would you buy something used that could simply burn out in a month for 800 dollars?
 
Theirs that new company out of japan selling hid kits with ballast and bulbs, direct plug ins. Maybe their under cuttin ya?
 
I don't think those kits from Japan are for the actual HID housings, I think they work with the halogens, which makes them not so legal, plus doesn't fix the fact that housings burn off the reflective material.

True..even new lamps have the chance to burn out in a month too. I agree that it's not likely though.

I just bought the set less than 2 months ago from our Ford dealer, they are freakin brand new. They have as much chance as a brand new bulb burning out. I was the first to open the package. Again, THEY ARE BRAND NEW!!!!!!
 
So you are on your third set now? The older ones I was gonna buy from you, I think it was you.
 
Unity, that is correct. I had the original set that came with the car. I sold those to a great guy here on the site. I bought another set from Ford and something flew up on the road and put scratches on them. The scratches are very minimal, Honestly. They were in my car for less than a month. I worked out a deal with Ford on another brand new set. They gave me a great deal because they were the last set they could find in the country. They said they couldn't warranty them, sense they were the last set. So, he gave me one :q of a deal. The only reason I did it was, I'm painting my car and I wanted perfect headlights.
 
Don't feel bad KC I saw a USED CE Steering wheel get $706.00 in not so great condition and I bought ALL the CE Wheels left on Earth and sold them on Ebay and never got more then $605.00? Figure it out? You can't LOL!

Hell I still have one left.

Your right, some of the things I've sold on Ebay has surprised me how much people will pay for certain things. It's truly bizarre how it will go both ways.

I think its because people expect to get a used set cheaper and pass up a new set since they figure the auction will sky-rocket. Not everyone uses the "watch item" feature so when they pass it up, they forget.

Yea, that's a good point. I had 6 people watching and 4 questions. I will probably try again but, I don't think I will take less than 800.00. For that price, I might as well keep them. You know. I bet I only turned them on less than a dozen times the whole time they were in the car. Oh well.:rolleyes:
 
Too bad the iPhone is coming out soon, my funds are already allocated now!
