Well, i tried to put in the 93 driveshaft last weekend. Damn, it wouldnt go. I took it all apart, undid BOTH straps for the tank and realized that my exhaust was in the way. When the Exhaust shop put it in the put too many hangers in and welded a few.. so now i gotta go get the pipes cut right before the tank so i can drop it. I tried to wiggle it out but i couldnt even get the old shaft off the flage!!!

I think you went to the wrong exhaust shop. The welded the hanger to the frame AND exhaust? I would take it back to them and have them do it right! Then you can work on the shaft. What happens if you have to replace the fuel pump or tank? Just seems like cutting the pipes would not be the best way to go.
 
make sure and have the shaft balanced before you install... i had a 93 in mine for a while and it vibrated worst than my stock 2 piece... had it balanced and it helped a lot but still not as smooth as my 4" i have now..

The problem was that they used the stock hanger locations and then added a few as well. it is solid and i was pretty satisfyed. But the passenger side doesnt have a flange by the manifold stock does it? So you wouldnt be able to move it regardless? i might be wrong but i dont think it does.
 
The driver's side has a cat attached, but there is still a connection after that, right by the trans. The passenger side it more up front at the manifold.
 
It's easy to break your flange bolts, I have mine tore apart right now and plan to weld lock nuts on because they all broke on one side on a rust free car.

I also cut my exhaust, just because I didn't want to weld more bolts on the flanges. There's a tool like a chain wrench with sharpened wheels on it, just hook it on and turn it back and forth, bam, clean straight cut. I have a larger piece of exhaust that I'll slide over and tack weld.

Another note, I had a shop cut my two piece apart and tig weld in a 4" tube, and balance, for $180.00 including tax. Those 400 dollar shafts are rediculous. Just some education.
 
Yeah, i think i am just going to go with the cutting the exhaust pipes just before the Tank. If it sounds alright i might just buy some 45 degrees and dump it there. BTW i have my dual in dual out muffler before the tank so it would still be muffled.
