i'm talking about the reverse glow gauges. i was wondering if you need special tools to install, or if the quality of the gauges is not good. any feedback from people who have done it please chime in. i've seen a few on ebay for a good price. i know NYC has them but he was a 2nd Gen so i'm not sure if the install is the same. TIA

The ones from LSK are made for a 1st gen, which I didn't realize until after I had everything apart. I had to trim the gauge overlay where they sit behind the speed and tach needle because the hole wasn't big enough. My gauges still don't work right because when I trimmed them, some of the plastic coating stuck up and blocks the needles.

One day I'll get around to either fixing them or throwing them out...

Oh, no special tools needed. Ken has the guide somewhere on his site. If you can't find it, I can post it when I get home tonight which is gonna be late since I'm working O.T..

thanks, one last question... did you need to dismantle everything along the kick panels and all that around that area? i'm going to try tackling this myself and don't want any surprizes when i'm doing it. on a scale from 1-10?

On a scale of 1-10 as far as how hard it was to install? 4-ish.

1-10 on the PITA meter - 9...that's why they're still in there lol

All that has to be taken apart is the stuff below the steering column and anything around it. Kick panels, center console area are left untouched. Need to loosen the steering column bolts to drop it down enough to get the gauge cluster out.

thanks again, and i'm assuming the battery should be disconnected to do this correct?

I guess. I didn't bother. It's gonna reset your trip odometers and MPG reading when you unplug the cluster.

Gonna try the ones he's got for the 03-06 cars, since it retains the stock gauge look, but with the white background.

If anyone wants my LSK reverse glow gauges when the above show up for free (see pics of the modification I had to make in my gallery), PM me. If not, they're going in the garbage!

If I remember, I shall do that. I'll more than likely post up a thread with pictures when I get them in, so keep an eye out. I gotta keep up with pektel somehow :D
