Found some very nice rims, but need to know if I need spacers to make sure they look right when I lower the ls.

If you don't mine putting extra stress on the hubs......

Pics of the wheels?

To my understanding, the higher the offset the more it is "tucked in". The lower the offset, the more it's pushed out.

is this correct?

Yes that is correct. As for this fitting the offset of 60 will have the wheels a little tucked. I am running the Jag Vulcan wheels with that offset and the fronts look tucked, but not in a bad way. Too me anyway.

Hey Leo!!!!!! Will we see you on the 27th???

Trying to get them to sit like this: Guy has stock 17's

He had rubbing issues with that , also the spacers took much of the lug nut thread so the wheel isnt as secure

Didn't know that. So what would be the best route to take to achieve this look with the wheels I have?

Do what he did and get rubbing. That said, an 18mm spacer will give you an effective offset of 42mm. That's if my math is correct.......

your math is correct.

60 mm offset with 18 mm spacers is an effective offset of 42 mm.

As long as we're on the subject of spacers/offset/etc let me throw out this question...

There's some wheels on Tire Rack that I may consider, but the site seems ULTRA conservative as far as showing available options for correct fitment based on the year/make/model of vehicles. That being said...

They show a wheel for a Jag that is an 18x8, but only show the SEVENTEEN inch version fitting the LS(?). The wheel has a 45 offset with a 6.299 backspace in 17" version, but even is higher for the 18" which is a 48 offset.

So I call to speak with the "professional" at TireRack...

Granted, they know much more than me, but I asked him why the 18" wheel doesn't show fitting my car when the only notable difference is 3mm. I was told that there are "other" considerations that may not be noted such as brake size and the back side of the wheel may be made differently so their "system" or however they match wheels to vehicles doesn't show it fitting. He said it may/may not fit correctly.

Add to that, that with all the 18" wheels that DO show a match for the LS, they recommend a 245/40, yet for this wheel I am talking about that shows fitting the Jag, they recommend a 235/50.

I'm not 100% sold on the wheel, but should I decide on the wheel, they've got me 2nd guessing myself as far as fitting properly.

Those places don't always know. If it's an 18x8 with a 48mm offset it'll fit just fine assuming the bolt pattern is the same. The only thing you may or may not need is hub centric rings depending on what jag they were made for, that being said I'm pretty sure most if not all jag wheels wouldn't require the rings, they usually are a direct fit.

With an 18" wheel I would use a 245/45 tire, or, better yet, a 255/40. Use this to calculate a tire size that will be as close to stock (235/50/17).

Hey Leo!!!!!! Will we see you on the 27th???

I kept putting off signing up and missed the deadline. I hope to meet you guys and hopefully ride along with someone.

Leo!!!

You hide all these months and show up with Vulcans? Pics!

I have been working 60+hrs a week for almost a year now. We just started going to 48 hrs and it looks like that won't last much more. I almost don't know what to do with my extra time right. Too many home things to catch up on. Found the Vulcans on CL back in Dec in San Clemente $400. Yeah what a deal. Running 245/45/18 in frt and 265/40/18 rr, I think that I will be going to 275/40/18 rr soon. The 265s look to small.
