Car had 6 miles till empty. Put 4 gallons of 93 in her, and the needle didn't move at all I believe. 7 hours later after I get off work, car said it then had 21 miles to empty...which I don't believe at all. I didn't drive anywhere, but to work, which is less than a mile away.

my 98 does the same thing. if its super low and you only put a little in, it wont register for hours, then all the sudden it has a 1/4 tank. its normal, if you want the needle to act right, stop being a cheap ass and fill the tank lol. my wife does the same thing, 10 bucks here, 7 bucks there, and always pissed because she has to stop for gas everyday. i fill my truck on payday, and it lasts 7 to 9 days.

Yea, I am a cheap ass when it comes to gas lol. How much would it take to fill her up, 50? I do that in alot of cars, but need to stop because I heard it can mess the pump or something up. :shifty:

When I did the focus pump on my 97 I took a look at the sending unit, it had a couple of worn spots around the 1/4 spot but never gave me any issues. I put a meter on it and sure enough it had 3 dead spots in it.
I pulled the focus sender off the basket, its the same just swapped the float arm over and done.

i dont know what you run for gas but i run shell premium and it takes roughly 60 bucks to fill my 98. i put low grade in my truck and it takes around $107 to fill my truck. it has a coffin sized 30 gallon tank.

My needle does the same thing sometimes. For 93 and about 40miles left in the tank it'll cost me about 60~ to fill up @ current gas prices.
