Disc Brake Quiet...thoughts/opinions

Has anyone had any luck using "Disk Brake Quiet"? It comes in an aresol can and is applied to the back of the brake pad to help eliminate that awful brake squeel.

I have been getting this awful brake squeel on soft braking (from like 30mph to a complete stop). If I hit the brakes hard I have no noise. I am in the process of showing my car to a few people that are interested in buying and it would be beneficial to me to get that noise to go away.

I realize that brake noise can come from virtually anything and can be hard to diagnose, so I know it can be from pads or rotors that need to be resurfaced or loose calipers, etc. etc., but just need advice on the disc brake quiet. Performance wise my brakes are excellent.

Yes, I HAVE used the product:
I bought new (cheap) rotors and pads all the way around for 220$
they squeak. annoying. nice car on 20's with squeaky brakes. enough said.

The product lasted about 2 - 3 days, driving to work 20 miles away ( minimal stops)
while hitting major traffic on the freeway ( stop and go) the squeak came back. But the CRC product White can, blue lid worked for 2-3 days.

be sure to spray it on both sides of the rotor.
 
You don't spray it on the ROTORS, you spray it on the back (non-contact side) of the brake pads.

You sprayed it on the ROTORS?!?!?! HOLY SH!T!!!!!
 
I dont think I will take the advice of spraying it on my rotors but I will give it a shot on the back sides of my front brake pads. Hopefully it will yeild some results if not, lesson learned; just pay for a brake job that includes new pads and resurfaced rotors etc.
 
Just take the brakes off. That will make em quiet. We will all be able to hear your screaming though.
 
Ha yea that would solve this brake noise, but create many other noises and problems

I think you're talking about a different type of product.

There is a spray that CRC makes that can be applied to the rotors, but its really only good for the initial break in of the pad and rotor surfaces. It does not prevent long term squeaks or squeals.

Then there is a completely different type of spray that is applied to the backings of the pads where the caliper makes contact. Its red, comes out thick, and dries into a rubbery material which insulates the vibrations of the pad against the caliper. And it does work, very well, when applied correctly.
But if you use strong cleaner or degreaser to clean your wheels it will probably take the spray on stuff off, Ive started using this stuff http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=CRC&MfrPartNumber=05016&CategoryCode=3223
because it doesn't come off. The spray stuff is nice, since its quick and easy to use, but it doesn't hold up nearly as well as the spread on kind.

LOL... you'd bought "CRC De-Squeak" not "disk brake quiet"!! I thought you actually applied brake quiet to the rotors!

so that stuff you put a link for is not a spray but something thicker that you put on the back of the pad and let dry for an hr or so. that definitly makes sense that it would work much better than a spray. Do you think there are similiar products but different brands that can yield the same results. Im gonna go to autozone or similiar store and see what i can pick up and give this stuff a shot.
