Just thought about this. Even though I had my Transmission Fluid Flushed, I don't believe they changed the fluid in the diff. Anyone had this done, and if so, what was the charge?

I did mine in the 2nd gen. The book says its lubed for life, but to change it if its was submerged in water or if its suspected to be leaking. But I know how diff fluid gets in all cars. I did it at 20,000 miles I recomend it at 30,000 with any vehicle, no matter what the book says (unless it says sooner). I worked in a quick lube shop so I got it done cheap but its, I think, $90 normal price. I used the 140W90 (I forget the weight) fulll syn limited slip. Special ordered the fluid.

2004 Owners Manual calls for Motorcraft SAE 75W-90 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant 1.2-1.3L/2.5-2.7 pints. The axle lubricant should be changed any time the rear axle has been submerged in water. Fill 6 mm to 14 mm (1/4 inch to 9/16 inch) below bottom of fill hole.

Thanks guys. What the heck, I'm at 97k now..figure one change in it's life (that I have it) won't hurt.
