I was trying to find something similar to my case on LVC, but I couldn't find any. My transmission is having issues when I reach speeds above 60mph. It shifts great from 1 through 5, no issues with reverse, down shifting no problem, stepping on the gas pedal hard not a problem. So this is where I can't find anything similar on LVC. As I am cruising down the highway in the snowy weather last week, I thought I hit a pot hole or a poorly done patch job. Then the weather warmed up and it did not happen. Started to snow again today and it happened again. My car jerks for a second, but there is no noise when it happens. It's like its trying to shift into 5th gear when its in fifth. It seems to occur only when it is cold outside. I only have 43,000 miles on the car. Seems a bit early to have issues with this.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Maybe replace the tranny fluid?

Thanks in advance

Traction control/AT engaging?

If the traction light or the AdvanceTrac (whichever you have) flashes when this happens, then it's a traction control issue. It may be correct operation if you hit some ice. Otherwise, it may be a marginal rear wheel sensor.

If it's not that, it's probably a marginal COP (Coil-On-Plug). The LS is famous for this. From your description, I really don't think it's the transmission.

I don't believe the traction control light came on, but i'll have to check again when it happens. I know the traction control works. My wheels were spinning today on some of the snow, partially because I hit the pedal harder to make sure the traction control works :D . And what is the marginal rear wheel sensor? Does that sensor send the signal to the traction control?

If the COP was going bad, would it jerk the car when I'm moving 60+ mph? Just curious.

Thanks for the responses!
